Before you process a document
Which digest format do I export?
On the device: Digest app → export as PDF or TXT. Both work here.
Why does it need a text layer?
Digests are matched by their text. Scanned PDFs without OCR text can't be searched.
What does «fuzzy» mean?
The quote didn't match exactly (hyphenation, quotes, spacing) — the close match found is shown for your review before writing.
Are the highlights real annotations?
Yes, standard PDF highlight annotations with your note as the comment — they show up in Acrobat, Preview and most readers.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Both files are processed in your browser.
